Queen Elizabeth Just Gave Prince Philip the Sweetest Anniversary Gift

What kind of anniversary gift does one give to a Prince? If you're the Queen of England, a knighthood. In honor of their platinum anniversary, Queen Elizabeth has made her husband, Prince Philip, a knight.

, Philip was awarded the Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, an honor "given by the monarch to recognize distinguished personal service to her."

The palace shared the news via Twitter on Monday, adding that "awards in the Royal Victorian Order are made personally by The Queen, for services to the Sovereign."
