Over a photo of Team USA, Kenworthy tweeted, "So proud of all these people! Everybody here has worked so hard to make it to the Olympics and have the opportunity to walk in the closing ceremony! Well... Everyone except Ivanka. Honestly, tf is she doing here??"
Technically, Ivanka is serving as the lead for Team USA's delegation at the closing ceremony, just as Vice President Pence attended the opening ceremony. Her father, President Donald Trump, in support of Ivanka's trip.
While Kenworthy has been a vocal critic, a number of Team USA's Olympians did hang out with Ivanka. While taking in a day's worth of events, she met with silver medal-winning bobsledders , and even got to wear Lauren's medal. She also spent time with the U.S.'s gold-winning curling team, snowboarders, and two of Team USA's ladies figure skaters, .
Perhaps notably, the third member of Team USA's ladies figure skating lineup, Mirai Nagasu, didn't join them — she is , who has also been very outspoken about the Trump Administration before and during the games. Rippon made headlines leading into the global event after a Twitter dispute with Vice President Pence about the VP's perceived support of conversion therapy. Pence asked to meet with Rippon while in South Korea, but the skater declined, saying he wanted to focus on the competition. Rippon has now said post-PyeongChang, so maybe they will get together States-side.
