Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced their engagement on March 9, and needless to say, the ring is absolutely gorgeous. But what's even more beautiful than J. Lo's new rock is the way the World of Dance judge and former New York Yankee chose to blend their families together, even before the proposal.
J. Lo has twins — Maximilian David Muñiz and Emme Maribel Muñiz — with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, who she was together with from 2004 to 2014. Meanwhile, Alex has two daughters of his own — Ella Alexander Rodriguez and Natasha Alexander Rodriguez – with his former wife, Cynthia Scurtis. Alex was married to Cynthia for six years and got divorced in 2008.
Before Alex popped the question to Jennifer, the couple was together for two years. They first met at a baseball game in 2005, but 12 years later. From the get-go, the singer made it clear to that it was extremely important to both of them that their kids were comfortable with their relationship. Thankfully, she said Alex's daughters clicked with her kids pretty quickly.
“Kids are so beautiful and open to love and new friends," Jennifer explained to the outlet. “I was so loving to his kids and he was so loving and accepting of mine, and they embraced each other right away."
A-Rod also told the publication that he felt the same, saying that their kids "have become best friends."
The happiness is so obvious in all of the couple's Instagram photos. Whether it's , having , or , the six seem to always be actively together, whenever they can be.
And when it comes to J. Lo's ex-husband, she and Alex have nothing but respect for Emme and Maximilian's father. that she and Marc were "great friends" now and were even working on an album together. And judging by A-Rod's Instagram pic of himself, his fiancé, and Marc, he seems very supportive of their co-parenting situation.
While A-Rod and his ex may have gotten into over child support in 2018, show that the two are civil for their girls.
Now, as the Jennifer and Alex start planning their wedding, reports that, once again, the duo is thinking a lot about their children. In fact, a "source" told the magazine that their children will be a "huge role" in their upcoming nuptials.
“For them both, they are still all about their family with the four kids. Their initial strong attraction for each other would have quickly faded if they had not been able to come together as a family,” the source speculates.
Based on these pictures, the J. Lo, A-Rod, and their beautifully blended family will have pure happiness in the days ahead.
