The Today Show hosts channeled major '80s vibes for their Halloween costumes this year.
To honor the shoulder pad-obsessed, synthesizer-loving era, each co-host decided to be either a major movie character or artist from the decade. As revealed on a pre-recorded video package, the crew had to arrive at 5 a.m. to get suited up for rehearsals. A few talented makeup artists and hair stylists later, the entire crew walked out at 8:30 a.m. ET looking absolutely gnarly. See Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and the rest of the Today crew's Halloween looks this year:
Willie Geist as Ferris Bueller from Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Willie showed off his mad lip-synching skills as he twisted and shouted in honor of the decade's favorite school-skipping teen.
Dylan Dreyer as Marty and Al Roker as Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the Future
Dylan and Al know it wouldn't be the '80s without Marty and crazy old Doc. What's more, the two even got to reveal their costumes by coming out of the flick's famous car. Talk about dedication.
Craig Melvin as Prince Akeem in Coming to America
Craig gave Eddie Murphy a run for his money when he stepped out of a cab looking royal as ever.
Jenna Bush Hager as Goose and Peter Alexander as Maverick from Top Gun
Jenna and Peter haven't lost that loving feeling as evidenced by their costume picks this year. Together, the two created one of the most notable '80s movies duos ever. Yes, aviators were involved.
Kathie Lee Gifford as Madonna
Kathie Lee was living in her own Material World this morning as she danced around and donned the singer's iconic pink dress and blonde curls.
Carson Daly as Bruce Springsteen
The Boss was in the building (well, technically outside the building). Carson channeled '80s Bruce while riding in on a motorcycle and rocking a red headband and jean jacket vest.
Sheinelle Jones as Tina Turner
Sheinelle's Tina costume was simply the best with her big hair and sequin-covered dress. Tina would be proud.
Savannah Guthrie as Cyndi Lauper
Savannah paid tribute to the original girl who wanted to have fun with her blinged-out jean jacket and poofy red dress.
Hoda Kotb as Elton John
And last, but mostdefinitely not least, Hoda went full-on Elton as she sat on the piano and pretended to belt out one of his tunes. Shoulder pads, larger-than-life sunglasses, and white feathers galore — Hoda had it all.
