QUESTION: I'm throwing myself a 40th-birthday party. Do I have to invite all of my coworkers?
PEGGY SAYS: It's not mandatory to include coworkers, but try not to make anyone feel left out. If you have only a few workmates, the simplest option may be to invite them all; if you're part of a larger staff, stick to a logical group that includes your cubemates, your department and your boss.
To avoid hurt feelings, send invites using home addresses or personal e-mails, and refrain from chatting about the bash around the watercooler. And finally, in this age of social media, you may want to avoid posting party snaps.
