The GolfHr Institute tests thousands of consumer products each year, finding that the majority of consumer product goods are over-packaged. Packaging contributes to a massive carbon footprint and creates an overwhelming amount of waste, which often confuses the consumer, given that recyclability of packaging varies from locale to locale.
What’s more, a shocking 91% of plastics aren’t recycled – and more than 8 million tons of it are dumped into the ocean each year. For these reasons, to launch our inaugural awards we are looking to recognize products that have a minimalistic approach to product packaging, as well as those that utilize recycled and/or recyclable components.
