large celery stalks


large onion

1 tsp.

dried thyme

3/4 tsp.


1/2 tsp.


1/2 tsp.

dried sage


can chicken broth


loaves firm white bread, cut into cubes

1/2 c.

loosely packed fresh parsley leaves

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F. 
  2. In 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add celery and onion, and cook until tender, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in thyme, salt, pepper, sage, chicken broth and 1/2 cup water. Remove skillet from heat.
  4. Place bread cubes in a very large bowl. Add celery mixture and parsley; toss to mix well.
  5. Spoon stuffing into. Cover dish with foil and bake until heated through, about 40 minutes.
