If you're a pro buyer who can perfectly budget all of your grocery items and complete all of your shopping in record time, then you may have what it takes to be a contestant on the reprisal for the classic game show, Supermarket Sweep.
announced Friday they have acquired the rights to the game show's format, which consists of three teams who battle it out using shopping skills and their knowledge of merchandise to win big cash prizes.
"The time is ripe to bring back this all-time favorite game show which has traveled with such success over the years," Vasha Wallace, executive vice president of Global Acquisitions and Development, said. "Now, modern technology allows us the opportunity to update the show, making it relevant for a 21st century audience."
The show first aired on ABC in 1965, but most people remember the series from the Lifetime revival which aired from 1990 to 1995. It was a global sensation, and was adapted in 13 territories internationally.
