We all have trouble spots we'd like to hide — redness around the nose, dark circles, acne scars — and a few dabs of concealer can help. Makeup artist teamed up with our sister site, Cosmopolitan.com, to show us how to get the perfect complexion with this handy concealer map.
1. Prep your face. Wash your skin with a gentle cleanser and then moisturize so your concealer goes on smoothly.
2. Target the areas of your face you'd like to even out with concealer. To conceal trouble spots, apply a liquid concealer that's the same shade or one shade slightly lighter than your skin tone. Use a concealer brush to dot the makeup above the brow, along the brow bone, under your eyes, along the corners of your mouth, on your chin, and around your nostrils. "You basically just need concealer to camouflage certain spots and if it's enough for you, then great. If it isn't, then you're going to want to apply foundation first and then continue with this step," says Biria.
3. Blend the concealer. Pat a flat concealer brush against your skin to spread the product evenly.
4. Make sure everything is blended properly. If the concealer isn't blended enough, take a makeup sponge, dampen the tip of it with water, and work the concealer outward to diffuse any lines of demarcation.
