We love a good braid. Along the side of the head? So pretty! Wrapped around the top like a crown? Gorgeous. Drawn across the forehead? Uh… okay…?
Apparently, makeup artists on Instagram are feeling intense pressure to come up with unusual eyebrow looks, because not long after squiggle brows went viral, braided brows have become a bona fide thing.
It all started when a talented young makeup artist named Eros Gonzalez posted a photo with his brows admittedly edited to look as though they'd been braided — though not before trying to manipulate the little hairs in real life.
"I spent almost an hour using things like hair gel and spirit gum in an effort to braid my tiny brow hairs with no avail," he told . "Once I realized it wasn't going to work, I decided to just edit the braid on."
And really, even if you have super-long unkempt grandpa brows, it would be damn near impossible to actually braid the suckers.
But just like with wavy lips, a Photoshopped beauty idea has inspired others to recreate the look with makeup, and the results are, at the very least, interesting.
This clever makeup artist even incorporated extensions and eyelash glue to make it look more realistic.
Ultimately, whether it's done with a photo-editing app or makeup, this trend arguably requires far more time than most people want to spend on their brows. But that probably won't stop creative (or bored) makeup artists from trying to come up with another impractical brow trend soon. (We've got our money on eyebrows with top knots.)
